Postdoctoral Fellow

The To Laboratory joined the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine (CU Medicine) in September 2026. The laboratory studies mitochondrial physiology in cancer and other diseases, combining pooled genetic screening with functional readouts (e.g., PMF-seq, Nature Metabolism 2024), chemical and protein tools for organelle physiology, and cancer and rare-disease models.

The appointee will develop an independent project within the laboratory's programme and will be supported in applying for external fellowships, including the RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioengineering or a related discipline; (ii) at least one first-author publication or preprint; (iii) hands-on expertise in one or more of mammalian cell biology, functional genomics, chemical biology and probe development, metabolic biology, analytical chemistry, or biochemistry; and (iv) strong written and spoken scientific communication in English. Candidates with experience in pooled CRISPR screen design and analysis, next-generation sequencing library preparation, Python or R, live-cell imaging or genetically encoded biosensors, protein engineering, or metabolomics and isotope tracing will be preferred.
