Research Assistant

The School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine is seeking outstanding candidates to join the Bioanalytical Unit of the School (

Applicant should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or related Science discipline; (ii) preferably with two years of working experience in testing or research laboratory; (iii) proficient in HPLC/UHPLC operation and basic sample extraction techniques; (iv) familiarise with UV-visible spectrophotometer and FT-IR spectrometer; (v) able to work independently and self-initiative; and (vi) familiarise with HOKLAS laboratory management system.

The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting routine pharmaceutical product test and stability study; (b) performing calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments; (c) collecting samples from hospitals or companies for testing; (d) maintaining good housekeeping including cleaning laboratory glassware; and (e) performing other tasks as assigned.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
