We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior IT Engineer to join our organization in Kuwait City, Kuwait. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the IT infrastructure that supports port and terminal operations. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor junior IT staff, and ensure the reliability and security of critical systems that are essential to our operations. Design, implement, and maintain port and terminal IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems

Manage and optimize database systems that support port operations and logistics management

Develop and execute IT security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize operational downtime

Lead IT projects from planning through implementation, ensuring efficient delivery and resource management

Mentor and supervise junior IT engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and performance feedback

Collaborate with port operations teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Monitor system performance, capacity, and security; implement improvements and upgrades as needed

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and standard operating procedures

Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure quality support and cost-effectiveness

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices relevant to port and terminal operations

7+ years of IT infrastructure management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity

Proven expertise in network administration, system administration, and server management

Strong knowledge of port and terminal operations systems or similar logistics-focused IT environments

Experience with IT security frameworks, compliance standards, and risk management

Proficiency in database administration and optimization

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement effective solutions

Experience with IT project management methodologies and tools

Strong leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to manage and develop technical teams

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (preferred)

Experience with cloud infrastructure and containerization technologies (preferred)

Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks (preferred)

Familiarity with maritime industry operations and port management systems (preferred)

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
