Part-time Research Assistant

The Department of English at The Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for a Part-time Research Assistant to join a multidisciplinary research team working on the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme (PASS)-funded project "Capacity Building for Clinical Communication and Advanced Nursing Practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine Settings". The project aims to enhance clinical communication practices in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) settings through professional training, research, and knowledge exchange.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Applied Linguistics, Health Communication, Nursing, Education, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related discipline; (ii) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (proficiency in Cantonese is essential); (iii) experience in conducting qualitative and/or quantitative research; (iv) excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills; and (v) the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.

The appointee will work closely with the Principal Investigator and project team. Duties include (a) supporting the implementation and evaluation of the PASS project; (b) conducting literature reviews and assisting in workshop and conference design; (c) recruiting participants from healthcare and Traditional Chinese Medicine sectors; (d) coordinating data collection; (e) assisting the development of professional training materials and educational resources; (f) coordinating workshops, conferences, stakeholder meetings and knowledge exchange activities; (g) liaising with project partners, healthcare professionals and collaborating organisations; (h) assisting in preparing research reports, publications, grant reports and dissemination materials; and (i) performing other project-related duties as assigned. Evening and occasional weekend work may be required to support workshops, conferences and project activities.

Appointment will be made on contract basis for six months until 31 January 2027 (or until project completion).
