Construction Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Construction Supervisor to lead jobsite operations. In this dual-role position, your primary responsibility is site management. When there is minor framing or finish work to be done, you would be expected to pitch in. The ideal candidate is a master tradesperson who possesses natural leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Labor: Actively perform skilled carpentry, framing, finishing, or other specialized trade tasks such as hanging doors/hardware to millwork installation.

Crew Leadership: Direct and mentor carpenter formmen, and laborer foremen on-site. Clear up execution questions and model high-quality workmanship.

Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Meet with subcontractors and material delivery drivers on-site. Ensure trade partners work efficiently, adhere to the timeline, and meet quality specs.

Safety Enforcement: Maintain a safe workspace. Enforce daily OSHA safety compliance, proper PPE usage, and correct tool operations.

Site Administration: Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and layouts. Track material inventory, note project changes, and report daily progress updates to the Project Manager.

Quality Control: Inspect your crew's and subcontractors' completed work. Identify and fix punch-list items dynamically throughout the build.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in the construction trades, with at least 1–2 years in a lead carpenter, foreman, or supervisory role.

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with standard hand tools, power tools, framing, and finish work. Expert ability to read architectural blueprints and layouts.

Licenses & Certifications:

OSHA 10-Hour construction Safety certification and/or willingness to take the class (company expense).

Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Local requirement: Valid state supervisor license if required by local municipalities (e.g., Massachusetts CSL) and/or willingness to take the class (Company expense)

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and stand, kneel, or bend for full 8-to-10 hour shifts in outdoor weather conditions.
