CNC Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laser Machine Operator to join our team. The Laser Machine Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating CNC laser cutter equipment to process metal materials according to production specifications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to read and interpret drawings and work orders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Set up, calibrate, and run CNC laser cutter machine to process steel and other metals according to work orders and blueprints

Calibrate machinery by installing appropriate lenses/nozzles and entering cut parameters based on material type and thickness

Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using appropriate material handling equipment

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and cut lists to ensure accurate cuts

Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance

Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain cut quality and production efficiency

Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications

Identify and report machine malfunctions, quality issues, or safety concerns to supervision

Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and required PPE guidelines

Meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards

Assist with other fabrication or production tasks as assigned

Use and read a tape measure and calipers

Preferred:

Prior CNC laser cutting experience

Experience working with steel fabrication or metal manufacturing

Ability to read blue prints and parts drawings

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, heat, and moving equipment

Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear

Work Environment

Manufacturing/fabrication facility

Exposure to hot materials, sharp edges, and moving machinery
