Description:
Trailer-Tank Inspector at Wayne Transports will be responsible for conducting inspections, evaluations and assessment of trailers and tanks to ensure compliance with federal safety regulations and standards. The inspector will utilize their expertise and certifications to identify potential defects, corrosions or the issues that may compromise the integrity and safe operation of the Trailer-Tank.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine servicing and repairs of tankers
Diagnosing and troubleshooting Tank/Trailer repairs
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems.
Inspect the overall condition of Tankers to ensure that they meet U.S. Department of Transportation’s safety requirements.
Compile inspection reports detailing their findings
Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
Requirements:
3 years of Cargo Tank experience (required)
Willingness to jump in and help out where needed
Attention to details
Mechanical aptitude with basic electric diagnostic / troubleshooting experience or technical training
DOT (certification a plus)
CDL (preferred)
Clean driving record
Good written and verbal communication skills
Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient and friendly work environment
Physical:
Standing, walking and climbing upstairs or ladders.
Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
Proficiency with hand tools and other equipment
