Job Description*:

BPI Data Engineer - primary skillset is Python + react.

Build and maintain data pipelines and applications that power Charter's network inventory ecosystem.

You'll work across real-time event streaming, batch ETL reconciliation, and full-stack dashboards that track hundreds of thousands of network devices across multiple source systems.

Day-to-day:

· Develop and maintain event-driven publishers that stream inventory changes (devices, cards, ports, shelves) to Kafka with enrichment and content-based routing

· Build ETL pipelines that reconcile device data between enterprise systems (MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL), detecting gaps and staging records for ingestion

· Contribute to React-based dashboards with interactive visualizations (Plotly/Sankey charts) for migration tracking and fallout analysis

· Design data mapping strategies across systems with different schemas, naming conventions, and identifier formats

· Work with Kubernetes deployments, GitLab CI/CD, and Helm charts

Tech stack:

· Python ( FastAPI, pymongo, SQLAlchemy, psycopg2, oracledb)

· PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle

· Kafka (producer patterns, topic routing)

· React, Material UI, Plotly.js

· Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, GitLab CI

· Git, property-based testing (Hypothesis)

3+ years building data pipelines or backend services in Python

Solid SQL skills across multiple databases

Experience with at least one message broker (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)

Nice to have:

· Network/telecom domain knowledge (ASN, CLLI, IP management)

· React frontend experience

· Kubernetes deployment experience

· Familiarity with CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns
