This position is responsible for ensuring all financial statement accurately present the financial position of the company to management and customers. Related journal entries, audit workpapers, payments, cash forecasts and budgets will be prepared consistently following generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) at all times. This position includes decisions and/or recommendations regarding personnel actions and employee development.
Job Description:
Essential Duties:
Fairly state financial statements with no deviations from GAAP
Responsible for all audits, including but not limited to Internal, external, federal and state
Remain current with GAAP pronouncements
Supervise, lead, train, and develop personnel
Communicate with internal and external customers and process requested information
Responsible for long- and short-term cash and financing projections, and related budgets
Responsible for calculating mine closing financial entries and forecasts
Perform job duties in accordance with MSHA law and regulations, established company safety procedures and state and federal environmental regulations Other Duties & Responsibilities:

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate financial positions to non-accountant management
Accurate, detail oriented and dependable
Strong knowledge of current GAAP requirements
Strong knowledge and experience with audit procedures
Self-motivated with good time-management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products - especially Excel, Outlook, and Word
Experience with successfully directing and supervising others Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or financial planning is required
Previous supervisory experience leading accounting or financial teams is preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is preferred ANALYSIS OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR POSITION:

NOTE: This position requires ability to work primarily indoors. Employees must be able to safely operate company vehicles/equipment as required. Employees must be able to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to safety footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, and ear protection, while in active work areas.
