Akkodis is seeking a for a PCB Test Technician at Location: Columbus, OH for a contract Duration: 3+Months with potential direct hire conversion.
Pay Range: $21/h- $24/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Position Summary
The Test Technician (Bench) is responsible for performing verification testing, troubleshooting, and functional validation of circuit boards and electronic assemblies. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong technical background in power electronics, electrical testing, and basic circuit analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be comfortable working with high-voltage AC/DC systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform verification testing on circuit boards and various electronic assemblies.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electronic issues using basic test equipment and measuring instruments.
Conduct basic circuit analysis to identify faults and verify functionality.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly prints.
Operate testing equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test instruments.
Document test results and maintain accurate records of inspection and verification activities.
Assist with electro-mechanical assembly tasks as needed.
Follow established safety procedures when working with electrical systems and high-voltage equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality standards and production requirements are met.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma or Certificate in Electronics Technology or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Military technical training and experience may be considered equivalent.
Experience in power electronics and electrical testing environments.
Knowledge of AC/DC electrical principles and terminology.
Experience working with voltages up to 480 VAC three-phase and 240 VDC.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a hands-on technical approach.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
Proficiency in the use of hand tools and basic assembly equipment.
Working knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, component testers, and other digital test instruments.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, schematics, parts lists, and technical documentation.
Basic understanding of electronic circuits and circuit functionality.
Computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis capabilities.
Familiarity with AC/DC power electronics and a willingness to work safely with high-voltage systems.
