Job: Forklift Operator / Yard & Warehouse Labourer

Location: Sault Ste. Marie, ON

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Start: ASAP (high possibility of getting hired after 2-3 months)

Job Description

We are hiring Certified Forklift Operators to work in a busy lumber yard and warehouse in Sault Ste. Marie.

This is a hands-on position that combines forklift operation, warehouse and yard labour, and customer service support. The right candidate should be comfortable performing physical labour and willing to learn additional tasks, including operating cutting equipment used to prepare lumber for customers.

Responsibilities

Operate a forklift safely in the lumber yard and warehouse

Load, unload, move, and organize lumber and other materials

Assist with general yard and warehouse labour

Prepare customer orders and move materials as required

Assist customers with lumber orders when needed

Learn and operate cutting machines to cut lumber according to customer requirements

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Perform other general labour duties as required

Requirements

Valid Forklift Operator Certification required

Previous forklift experience of atleast 1 year in a lumber yard, warehouse, or similar environment is required

Must be willing to perform physical labour and lifting materials

Must be willing to learn how to operate cutting equipment

Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors

Must be available to work the full 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Temp to perm opportunity in 2-3 months (after performance review)

Hands-on training provided for additional equipment and cutting machine duties
