Melt Operator

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Melt Operator to join our metal manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring melting equipment to produce high-quality molten metal, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and control melting furnaces and related equipment to melt metals according to specified parameters.

Monitor temperature, composition, and other critical variables to ensure proper melting conditions.

Perform regular inspections and maintenance on melting equipment to prevent downtime.

Adjust settings as needed to maintain consistent melt quality and efficiency.

Follow safety protocols to handle molten metal safely and prevent accidents.

Record process data accurately, including temperature readings, quantities, and operational parameters.

Assist in the preparation and loading of raw materials into melting furnaces.

Collaborate with quality control to ensure the final product meets specifications.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or experience in metal melting preferred.

Previous experience operating melting furnaces or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Strong understanding of safety procedures related to handling molten metals.

Ability to monitor and adjust equipment settings accurately.

Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and handling heavy materials.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to high temperatures, molten metals, and noise.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times.

Standing for long periods and handling heavy loads.
