Position Summary

We are a third-generation family-owned catering company seeking an experienced, passionate, and dependable Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to oversee daily food preparation, maintain high-quality standards, and support catering operations for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and special occasions.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef in planning, preparing, and executing menus for catered events and venue functions.

Supervise kitchen staff and assist with scheduling, training, and development.

Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all food products.

Oversee food preparation and production to meet event timelines and service standards.

Maintain inventory levels, assist with ordering, and monitor food costs.

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Monitor proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures.

Assist with menu development and seasonal offerings.

Support on-site event execution as needed.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of kitchen leadership experience, preferably in catering, banquets, or high-volume food service.

Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques.

Experience managing kitchen staff and coordinating production schedules.

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

ServSafe Certification preferred.

Valid driver's license is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
