Controller

Overview:

Hixen Search Group has partnered with an established and growing local service and logistics company in their search for a Controller. This is a newly created leadership position that will oversee the accounting and finance function while partnering directly with company leadership to improve financial reporting, processes, systems, and overall business performance.

Responsibilities:

Own the monthly close and financial reporting process

Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis

Oversee billing, AR, and day-to-day accounting operations

Convert the organization from cash to accrual accounting

Improve the chart of accounts, reconciliations, internal controls, and reporting

Develop KPI, job profitability, and margin reporting for leadership

Evaluate and implement accounting systems, automation, and process improvements

Serve as a financial business partner to leadership and operations

Desired Candidate Profile:

7+ years of progressive accounting experience

Experience owning the monthly close and financial reporting

Proven experience building or improving accounting processes and controls

Job costing, project accounting, or service-based costing experience

Cash-to-accrual conversion experience

Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills

Strong people leadership and business-partnering capabilities

CPA or CMA is a plus

Logistics, construction, field service, or similar industry experience is a plus

$130-150K base + bonus
