EHS Specialist – Construction / Data Center

Location: New Albany, OH

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety operations across large-scale construction and missioncritical projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, understands the unique risks of data center and structured cabling work, and can drive a proactive safety culture on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and deliver safety, environmental, and orientation training programs for employees and subcontractors.

Implement and continuously improve site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA, company policy, and client requirements.

Conduct facility and jobsite inspections, identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions.

Maintain and manage all safety documentation, including:

Audits & inspections

Pre-Task Plans (PTPs)

Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)

Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)

Lead and document accident, incident, and injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective action tracking.

Prepare safety-related materials for hearings, insurance cases, and legal proceedings as needed.

Partner with project managers, field leadership, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and promote a strong safety culture.

Utilize MS Word and Excel at a high level for reporting, documentation, and program management.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in large-scale construction environments.

Experience in data centers, structured cabling, or mission-critical infrastructure strongly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety best practices.

Demonstrated experience conducting inspections, audits, and safety training.

High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence field teams and leadership.

Preferred Certifications

OSHA Outreach Trainer (10/30 Hour)

BCSP credentials, such as:

ASP

CHST

OHST

CSP

SMT / SMS

CET

GSP
