IT Field Technician (Subcontractor)

TechLogic Solutions is sourcing and vetting qualified 1099 IT Field Technicians on behalf of our client, a lead infrastructure provider for national banking networks. In this role, you will receive direct dispatches to complete hands-on rack and stack, cabling, and hardware maintenance across local retail bank branches and corporate financial offices.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Rack, Stack & Patch: Install and swap routers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems, and servers.

Cabling & Layer 1: Run, terminate, test, and dress Cat5e/Cat6 and fiber lines to enterprise standards.

Upgrades & Swaps: Execute hardware refreshes, RAM/drive upgrades, and decommissioning/asset packing during planned maintenance windows.

NOC Collaboration: Serve as the hands-on tech during remote troubleshooting sessions with Tier 2/3 engineers.

Site Audits & Deliverables: Complete site surveys, document rack layouts, and upload clear photo sign-offs upon task completion.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience: 3–5+ years in commercial IT field support (retail, enterprise, or banking experience preferred).

Vetting: Must be able to pass an extensive criminal background check and drug screen (required for financial site access).

Education & Certs: High School Diploma required (Associate degree preferred). Certifications like CompTIA A+/Net+, Cisco CCST/CCNA, or BICSI are a huge plus! Fiber experience preferred!

Professionalism: Clean appearance and reliable communication suited for bank branch environments.

Required Tools & Logistics:

Vehicle: Reliable personal transportation.

Tech Kit: Laptop with Ethernet port + terminal software (PuTTY), console cables (USB to RJ45/Serial), smartphone.

Tools: Basic hand tools, cordless drill, network toner/tester, and crimp/termination tools.
