MRI Technologist

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for MRI scans by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.

Operate MRI equipment to capture detailed images of internal body structures, adhering to established protocols and safety standards.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to plan patient treatment imaging needs and adjust imaging techniques accordingly.

Maintain meticulous electronic health records (EHR) of procedures, patient information, and imaging results for accurate documentation.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the use of proper shielding and monitoring for contraindications such as implants or allergies.

Assist in behavioral interventions when necessary to calm anxious or claustrophobic patients during scans.

Requirements

Certification as an MRI Technologist from an accredited program; state licensure or registration as required.

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to MRI procedures.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and CPR training to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate documentation.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex procedures clearly and compassionately.
