Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Nairobi, Kenya Employment Type: Contract Reports To: Finance Director & Finance Manager Role Summary: We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and highly analytical Senior Accountant to join our Finance and Accounts team.

The ideal candidate is an all-round finance professional who approaches complex financial challenges with an organized, strategic mindset.

You will play a pivotal role in maintaining robust internal controls, ensuring strict statutory compliance, and driving financial accuracy across the Group’s operations.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and financial performance reports to the Directors.

Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments to project future performance and advise management.

Research and analyze expense variances for management and assist with month-end closing procedures.

Review and reconcile project performance, delivering comprehensive monthly reports.

Controls, Reconciliations & Asset Management Compile, update, and maintain an accurate Fixed Assets Register, ensuring correct depreciation and proper asset disposal.

Execute day-to-day accounts receivable and payable functions, ensuring debtor collections are handled efficiently and customer accounts are reconciled monthly.

Manage stock reconciliations across all branch offices, including stocks in tank, stocks in transit, and stocks sold.

Maintain and monitor day-to-day internal controls for all finance systems.

Compliance, Taxation & Audit Ensure 100% compliance with all statutory requirements and file taxes accurately before deadlines.

Co-ordinate with internal and external auditors to complete statutory audits, draft financial statements with related notes, and implement audit recommendations.

Conduct internal audits for branch offices to ensure policy alignment.

Maintain productive stakeholder relationships with regulatory bodies, including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). Strategic Support & Market Analysis Assist the Finance Director in developing financial policies, accounting procedures, and quality standards for continuous improvement.

Support capital project analysis and presentation.

Conduct market and price analysis to assist with financial projections.

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a business-related field.

CPA (K) Finalist and an active member of ICPAK (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya). Minimum of 8 years of professional accounting experience.

Direct experience in the Petroleum / Oil & Gas industry is highly desirable and will be an added advantage.

Exceptional computer literacy with advanced proficiency in MS Excel and modern accounting software (ERP systems). Outstanding communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
