Field Technician

Job Description

We are seeking reliable and motivated Field Technicians to perform residential coax and fiber installation, activation, troubleshooting, and service work.

Technicians will travel to customer locations and complete assigned work orders while maintaining high standards for safety, workmanship, and customer service.

Candidates with previous cable, coax, fiber, telecommunications, or field installation experience are preferred. Entry-level candidates who are mechanically inclined and willing to learn may also be considered.

Responsibilities

Install, activate, repair, and troubleshoot residential coax and fiber services

Run and route coaxial and fiber-optic cable from the service connection to customer premises

Install and replace cable lines, connectors, splitters, outlets, modems, routers, and related equipment

Perform basic fiber installation and connection work according to project requirements

Test signal levels and connectivity to ensure services are operating correctly

Diagnose and resolve internet, cable, and connectivity issues

Complete assigned work orders accurately and on time

Use ladders and hand/power tools safely

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Maintain professional communication with customers

Follow company, client, and project safety procedures

Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicle in good working condition

Requirements

Valid driver’s license

Social Security Number and legal authorization to work in the United States

Reliable minivan, pickup truck, or SUV suitable for field work

Ability to safely use and carry ladders

Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and around residential properties

Ability to use basic hand and power tools

Smartphone with reliable mobile service

Good communication and customer-service skills

Ability to work independently and manage assigned jobs efficiently

Must be able to pass required background screening and/or drug screening, where applicable

Previous coax, fiber, cable, telecom, Xfinity, AT&T, or similar field experience is a plus
