Diesel Maintenance Technician

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Maintenance team. This role is crucial in ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained, directly supporting our mission to offer services promoting health, healing, and hope in the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our facilities, including preventive maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe environment for both clients and staff across various service locations.

Responsibilities

Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, carpentry, and heating and ventilation systems maintenance.

Inspect and identify equipment or machines needing repair or replacement

Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure facility equipment runs smoothly

Respond to urgent maintenance calls and participate in the creation of emergency preparedness plans

Record and maintain activity logs and report any major issues to facility management

Required Skills

Proven ability in handling general repair tasks

Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system repair

Ability to use hand and power tools safely

Strong problem-solving skills

Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
