Do you enjoy technology, electronics, computers, networking, audio/video, or figuring out how things work?

Advanced Home is looking for a Junior Smart Home Technology Technician to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent technical college graduate or someone with hands on technical experience who wants to build a career working with today's smart home technology.

Previous smart home experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person.

We are looking for someone who enjoys technology, likes working with their hands, is dependable, and wants to learn a skilled technical trade with excellent opportunities for career advancement.

What You Will Learn

You will work alongside experienced Advanced Home technicians and receive hands on training with:

• Smart home automation systems

• Professional audio and video systems

• TVs and home theater systems

• Home networking and WiFi

• Structured wiring and low voltage cabling

• Lutron lighting control systems

• Motorized window shades

• Security and Alarm.com systems

• Surveillance camera systems

• Equipment racks and system wiring

• System setup, testing, and troubleshooting

You do not need to know how to work with all of these systems when you start.

We are looking for someone with the right attitude and technical aptitude who is interested in learning.

Experience That Is Helpful

Education or experience in any of the following areas is helpful, but not required:

• Electronics

• Computer networking or IT

• Structured cabling

• Telecommunications

• Home theater installation

• Construction or other skilled trades

Recent technical college graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will grow as you are trained and may include:

• Assisting experienced technicians with smart home installations

• Running and terminating Cat6 and other low voltage wiring

• Installing televisions, speakers, cameras, and other technology

• Assisting with equipment rack assembly and wiring

• Installing networking and WiFi equipment

• Assisting with smart home automation systems

• Installing lighting control equipment

• Assisting with motorized shade installations

• Installing security and surveillance equipment

• Testing installed systems

• Troubleshooting equipment and wiring

• Maintaining clean and organized job sites

• Working professionally inside customers' homes and businesses

As your experience grows, you will have opportunities to independently complete installations and take on additional project responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and good driving record

• Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools

• Ability to work from ladders

• Ability to lift and carry equipment associated with technology installations

• Professional appearance and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Willingness to learn and complete technical training

• Ability to work well as part of a team

• Dependable and punctual

Compensation

Starting Pay: $22 to $28 per hour, based on experience and technical background

We believe employees who learn quickly and take on additional responsibilities should have the opportunity to advance.

A 90 day performance and compensation review will be conducted to evaluate your progress, technical skills, and responsibilities.

Additional compensation growth is available as you develop the ability to independently complete installations, troubleshoot systems, and take responsibility for projects.
