Gastroenterologist - Outpatient Practice Overview

A healthcare organization in South Central Montana is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Gastroenterologist for a long-term locum tenens assignment with the potential for permanent placement. This outpatient-only opportunity offers a four-day workweek, dedicated procedure time, no call, and the opportunity to supervise advanced practice providers.

Setting: Outpatient Gastroenterology

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Ongoing

Credentialing: Approximately 90 days

Schedule: Four-day workweek

Clinical Time: Outpatient clinic with one dedicated procedure day

Call: None

Hospital Coverage: None

EMR: Cerner

Clinical Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage patients with gastrointestinal disorders in an outpatient setting

Perform upper and lower endoscopic procedures as appropriate

Perform biopsies, polypectomies, esophageal dilation, PEG placement, and other gastrointestinal procedures based on clinical expertise

Coordinate patient care with referring providers and multidisciplinary teams

Supervise advanced practice providers

Document patient care using Cerner

Requirements

MD or DO

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Gastroenterology

Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship

Active Montana medical license or willingness to obtain one

Current BLS certification

Current ABLS certification

Comfortable supervising advanced practice providers

Interest in a potential permanent opportunity preferred

Eligible for hospital credentialing
