General Maintenance Worker

Location: SISD Maintenance Department

Salary: District Pay Scale

Length of Work Day/Year: 240 Days

Position Requirements:

Education: High Diploma or GED

Certification: Valid Texas Driver's License

Experience: Experience in general building maintenance

Duties:

Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems

Assist in repair and maintenance of district facilities including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; replacing broken glass

Assist with relocation of furnishings such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.

Move, install, assemble, and repair school furniture and playground equipment

Operate light truck, equipment, and tools following established safety procedures
