Electrical Engineer

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Product Sustaining & Redesign

Location: columbus IN

Duration: Long Term

Key Responsibilities

Own the redesign of an existing product from obsolete component identification through production implementation.

Serve as the technical lead coordinating engineering, quality, testing, manufacturing, and operations teams.

Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternate electrical components based on existing specifications and circuit function.

Assess PCB, schematic, firmware, or software changes required to support new components.

Develop and propose qualification plans and testing strategies.

Perform and oversee electrical and environmental testing in compliance with safety protocols.

Analyze and communicate test results, risks, and recommendations.

Define cutover strategies including alpha, beta, and gamma production plans.

Partner with operations to update BOMs and support manufacturing implementation.

Gather feedback from production plants and support early production runs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

10+ years of electrical engineering experience

Proven leadership of redesign or sustaining engineering projects

Technical Skills

Strong schematic and PCB comprehension

Hands-on lab and test equipment experience

Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power meters, humidity chambers, and soldering

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
