Forging Operator

$20–$23 Per Hour

1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift Available

Onsite, Columbus, OH 43207

What You'll Be Doing:

Operate, monitor, and maintain forging machinery while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and production quality.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in shift-change handover meetings.

Perform machine setup according to established setup sheets, including cooling conveyor configurations.

Complete press startup and shutdown procedures and coordinate transfer setups with production team members or supervisors.

Sample graphite away from press machinery and maintain proper lubricant concentrations.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.

Monitor press equipment and surrounding areas for issues, including catch pan misplacement.

Prepare materials and equipment for upcoming press jobs, including rails, cups, and chutes.

Make necessary machinery adjustments and troubleshoot minor breakdowns.

Submit work orders and request maintenance support for more complex equipment issues.

Complete visual inspections, measurements, critical part checks, hardness sampling, and piece checks.

Rework nonconforming parts as needed and maintain production boards.

Document equipment maintenance issues and communicate them to supervisors or the maintenance department.

Maintain 5S standards and follow route card, signoff, transfer area, and Stop, Call, Wait procedures.

Print setup documentation, control cooling sheets, attend required meetings, and perform other assigned duties.

Who We're Looking For:

Ability to safely operate and monitor production machinery.

Strong attention to detail when completing inspections, measurements, and quality checks.

Ability to follow setup instructions, safety procedures, and established production standards.

Basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to recognize when maintenance support is needed.

Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with production associates, leads, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
