Technical Support Specialist - Records
The Technical Support Specialist - Records has developed specialized skills in specific record areas used to perform daily job functions within the department. Completion of assignments will require working independently, using strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and completing repetitive tasks with a high level of accuracy within the system of records. Support all capital and O&M programs by identifying all existing and proposed service equipment records with the SAP WMS system, in a timely manner. Using skills and knowledge of the service records, complete assigned record changes within SAP WMS and other company applications as required. Provide backup for the creation or maintenance of SAP master data when directed by supervision.
Key Responsibilities
React to new service requests from Marketing by creating and/or updating master data via B1 in SAP.
Review and update task 7 in B1 process daily.
Copy construction crew paperwork weekly.
Review construction crew paperwork for accuracy for company standards.
Review and update functional locations & service equipment records in SAP.
Create URL link in SAP allowing newly updated service cards to be viewed from network drive.
Review and update service as-builts and label new equipment record for the GIS Technician.
Track MAT, date in service, posting task update, change of WO status, date of equipment update, GSEP eligible and GSEP characteristics in Service Equipment spreadsheet.
Update Service Equipment, Outstanding posting spreadsheets.
TECO all service work orders in SAP.
Create service work orders for records purposes or based on field changes (as needed).
Research and gather pipe information for field, internal personal and customer requests.
File all service construction paperwork in proper folders.
File all closed folders back into records room.
File all return folders into the records room.
Post record as-built drawings with updated footage, ties for services in AutoCAD.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree in a technical field with 3 years of data entry experience or High School diploma with 6 years of data entry experience. Experience in the gas utility industry may supersede data entry requirements.
Experience in the gas utility industry is preferred.
This is a DOT safety-sensitive position and will be part of the drug testing pool.
Preferred Qualifications
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, as-builts, mapping is required.
Possess the ability to effectively and accurately organize large quantities of critical information.
Ability to work independently and have problem solving skills.
Three years of SAP experience is required. (SAP Work Management given preference)
Experience in gas utility or energy sector projects.
Formal training in AutoCAD is preferred. (Technical school or certification program)
