Wiser Wealth Academy is the development company behind AFM.Money, a consumer personal financial management and wealth-building application built by Fintomic. AFM.Money is the first product to launch from a suite of forty financial applications, and it is preparing for release. Before it reaches the public, we need people to break it.
That is the job. You will be among the first five people outside the company to use AFM.Money in depth, and your work will directly determine what gets fixed before launch. This is a real product with a real release date, and the defects you find and document will be worked by the engineering team.
We are hiring five QA / Beta Testing Interns for a 90-day paid engagement. No programming experience is required. We are not asking you to write code, read code, or automate anything. We are asking you to use a financial application the way a real person would, notice everything that is confusing, broken, slow, ugly, or wrong, and write it down clearly enough that an engineer can act on it.
WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO
You will work through the AFM.Money interface across its major workflows, evaluating usability and user experience from the perspective of an ordinary person trying to manage their money. You will execute assigned test scenarios and also explore freely, because the most valuable defects are usually the ones nobody thought to look for.
When you find a problem, you will file it as a structured defect ticket in Fintomic Projects, our internal project management platform. Each ticket needs a clear title, reproduction steps precise enough that someone else can follow them, expected versus actual behavior, severity, and a screenshot or screen recording. Vague tickets create work instead of removing it, so writing them well is the core skill of this role and the thing we will coach you on.
Work is assigned as discrete projects through Fintomic Projects. Each project comes with a defined scope, a list of deliverables, clear acceptance criteria, a deadline, and a stated fee agreed before you begin. You choose when and how you work on it. When you deliver and we confirm the work is complete, the full project fee is paid.
By the end of ninety days you will have hands-on experience with the full defect lifecycle, working knowledge of QA methodology and UAT practice, and a documented body of work you can point to in interviews.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The single most important qualification is attention to detail combined with the willingness to write things down carefully. Good testers are people who cannot let an inconsistency go, and who would rather ask an awkward question than assume something is fine.
We are looking for candidates currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a computer science, information technology, information systems, management information systems, or related program - though we will genuinely consider strong candidates from any discipline who make a compelling case. Curiosity about personal finance is a plus, and being a member of the audience this app is built for is an advantage, not a gap.
You will need reliable internet, a desktop or laptop computer with a current browser, and ideally a mobile device for cross-platform checks. Realistically you should have around ten or more hours a week genuinely available, since that is the pace at which projects are sized - but you decide when those hours happen.
COMPENSATION
This engagement is paid per project, not per hour. Each project is priced as a fixed fee based on its scope and complexity, and that fee is agreed and stated before you start the work. As a reference point, a project we estimate at roughly ten hours of effort typically pays $200 to $300 depending on complexity. Larger or more complex projects pay more, and we increase project fees for testers whose work proves consistently strong.
Because the fee is fixed, you keep the full amount regardless of how long the work takes you. Payment is made in full by direct ACH deposit once the project is delivered and confirmed complete.
Over a 90-day engagement, a tester working at a steady pace of roughly ten hours a week would expect total compensation in the range of $2,400 to $3,600, though this depends on how many projects you accept and complete.
This is an independent contractor engagement, not employment. You set your own hours, you supply your own computer and internet, and you are responsible for your own taxes. You will complete a Form W-9 before your first payment and will receive a Form 1099-NEC for the calendar year if your total compensation meets the reporting threshold. No benefits are provided.
ELIGIBILITY
You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and you must be physically located in the United States for the duration of the engagement. Because payment is made by ACH transfer, you will need a US bank account and must be able to provide a completed IRS Form W-9. You must be at least 18 years of age in order to enter into the contract.
Because AFM.Money is unreleased and its design is confidential, all selected contractors must sign an Independent Contractor Agreement that includes confidentiality and intellectual property assignment provisions before receiving access. If you are not comfortable signing a confidentiality agreement, this role is not a fit.
We welcome applicants from every state.
