Development Manager Contractor · ONE805 · Santa Barbara County Reports to the Chief Executive Officer About ONE805 ONE805 is a Santa Barbara County nonprofit supporting local fire and law enforcement departments through emergency grants, mental wellness programming, and equipment funding.

Position Overview ONE805 is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead fundraising efforts for our endowment and capital campaign, alongside grants and small events.

This role works closely with the CEO to identify and secure support from donors and foundations alike, helping fund both programmatic and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities Lead fundraising strategy and execution for the endowment campaign and capital campaign Cultivate and manage relationships with donors and foundations alike Manage and develop our CRM (DonorDock), including applying AI techniques to improve donor insights, segmentation, and outreach Research, identify, and cultivate relationships with foundations whose funding priorities align with ONE805’s mission and operational needs Manage the grants pipeline — prospecting, proposal writing, reporting, and compliance Plan and support small-scale fundraising events Partner closely with the CEO to align fundraising strategy with organizational priorities, including operational support needs Track and report on campaign progress, grant status, and fundraising metrics Qualifications Required Proven experience in nonprofit development, with a track record in campaign fundraising and grant writing Experience managing and developing donor relationships in a CRM, including using AI tools to strengthen donor data and outreach Strong relationship-building skills with both donors and foundations Genuine enjoyment of event fundraising, with a track record of events that deliver measurable results Results-driven, with prior success working as a contractor Highly organized, with a strong appetite for research and a hard work ethic Genuinely enjoys working with and connecting with people; must build strong, personable relationships Local to and knowledgeable about the Santa Barbara area Excellent written and verbal communication skills Flexible with schedule Ability to work independently as a contractor while collaborating closely with leadership Preferred Experience managing endowment or capital campaigns Direct experience with DonorDock Engagement Details Engagement type Consultancy or independent contractor Reports to Chief Executive Officer Location Santa Barbara County Work arrangement Partial hybrid Hours Flexible Compensation Independent contractor, monthly retainer as agreed, depending on availability and scope of work Growth opportunity Engagement as a consultancy or independent contractor until proven metrics are established, with the potential to join the team as a salaried employee after six months How to Apply Please send a résumé and a brief cover note describing your fundraising track record to Trisha Montesano at .
