Executive Chef – Detox & Residential SUD Facility (6 Beds)

About Us
We are a small, high-touch detox and residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment facility serving up to six residents at a time. Our program emphasizes dignity, structure, and whole-person healing. Nutrition plays a critical role in recovery, and we are seeking an experienced, compassionate Executive Chef who understands the impact of high-quality, thoughtfully prepared meals in a therapeutic environment.
Position Summary
The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and staff management while creating a nutritious, consistent, and welcoming dining experience for residents and employees. This role is ideal for a chef who values structure, quality, and purpose-driven work in a smaller, mission-focused setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and direct all food preparation and meal service
Develop weekly menus that are balanced, nutritious, and recovery-focused
Maintain copies of menus for a minimum of 30 days
Monitor food quality, presentation, and consistency
Design plating and presentation standards for all meals
Create new recipes, menu items, and occasional specials
Track food costs and manage kitchen budget effectively
Order food and kitchen supplies and coordinate deliveries or pickups
Maintain accurate inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
Oversee maintenance and repairs of kitchen appliances
Ensure compliance with all state food safety and sanitation laws
Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready kitchen
Manage daily workflow and resolve kitchen-related issues efficiently
Research and implement new culinary trends where appropriate
Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of:
Multiple cooking styles and methods
Sanitation and food safety standards
Kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
Inventory control, waste logs, and requisition processes
Experience in healthcare, residential treatment, or similar environments is a plus
Required Certifications & Clearances
Current Food Handler’s Certificate
Current and valid Tuberculosis (TB) test
Ability to successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including:
Criminal background check
Drug screening
Professional and personal reference checks
