Maintenance Worker ll

Positions in this class are routinely assigned to work in aircraft operating areas and security restricted areas, where they are responsible for the operation of radio equipped tractors with a variety of mowing or chemical application attachments. This position is instrumental in the continuing maintenance of the airport's grounds and crew member for for performing pavement and lighting repairs. This position also performs a variety of mechanical, electrical and plumbing task and preventative maintenance on various buildings and equipment. Work is performed independently or as a member of a crew, depending on the nature of the task.

Qualifications:

Literacy and ability to perform basic arithmetic.

Work experience in knowledge of airport airfield lighting, methods and materials for pavement and grounds maintenance.

The use of aircraft and maintenance radios.

Completion of Aircraft Operating Area (AOA) training.

Some airport maintenance experience, or related maintenance, repair and minor construction activities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience such as vocational certificate in HVAC, welding, automotive or electrical.

Must have high school diploma.

Must have a valid Louisiana driver's license.
