Instrumentation Technician - POS26282

Location: Netherlands

We are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and detail-oriented Instrumentation Technician to join a high-tech manufacturing facility based in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex automated process machinery, sensors, and control systems. This position offers an exceptional international career opportunity for a technical professional with 1–2 years of experience. Prior exposure to FMCG, Food & Beverage, or Pharmaceutical operational environments will be distinct advantageous. Fluency in Afrikaans is an essential requirement for this position.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of practical experience as an Instrumentation Technician, Control Technician, or similar technical role.

• Industry Exposure: Experience gained within FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), Food & Beverage, or pharmaceutical production/manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.

• Language Requirement: Afrikaans language proficiency (spoken & written) is essential.

• Educational Qualification: Relevant Technical Diploma / National N-Diploma / Trade Test Certificate in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.

• Mobility: Willingness to relocate to and work in the Netherlands.

• Technical Competency: Strong working knowledge of process control loops, pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors, control valves, transmitters, and signal converters.

• Automation Knowledge: Basic to intermediate familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA systems for fault diagnosis and signal tracking.

• Technical Blueprint Reading: Solid understanding of P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical mind with a methodical approach to electrical and instrument fault finding under pressure.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous precision in calibration techniques and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Afrikaans and English, facilitating seamless team integration.

• Safety First Mindset: High commitment to workplace safety, zero-harm culture, and environmental standards

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Calibration & Maintenance: Perform routine and scheduled calibration, testing, and alignment of process instrumentation (transmitters, sensors, control valves, flowmeters, RTDs, thermocouples).

• Fault Finding & Breakdown Repair: Rapidly diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment breakdowns, instrument faults, and process loop irregularities to minimize production downtime.

• Quality & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with industry quality, hygiene, and safety standards including HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), ISO, and local safety regulations.

• Automation & PLC Support: Assist automation engineers with basic PLC software signal tracing, I/O checks, and SCADA monitoring during maintenance or line modifications.

• Preventative Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance schedules (PMs) for all field instrumentation, control loops, and safety interlocks.

• Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain precise records of instrument calibrations, test results, equipment logs, and maintenance work orders in line with quality auditing standards.

• Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, production operators, and maintenance supervisors to continuously optimize plant efficiency.
