AUTOMATION ENGINEER – POS26285

Based: The Netherlands

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and talented Automation Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team based in The Netherlands. This position is ideal for an engineer with 1 to 2 years of practical experience who is eager to apply and expand their technical skills in industrial automation, PLC programming, and HMI design within modern European engineering environments.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Industrial, or related discipline).

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional hands-on experience in automation engineering or control system integration.

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience with PLC programming and HMI development platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider Electric, or equivalent).

• Language Requirement: Must speak fluent Afrikaans (essential requirement for team communication and client interaction).

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with a structured, methodical approach to fault-finding and system diagnostics.

• Location: Must be willing to live and work based in The Netherlands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, program, test, and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) for industrial automated systems.

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize existing automated machinery and control systems to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver automation projects from conceptualization through to installation.

• Develop clear technical documentation, operational manuals, sequence of operations, and functional design specifications.

• Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) and factory acceptance testing (FAT) for control systems.

• Ensure all automation engineering solutions strictly adhere to European industrial safety regulations, client specifications, and quality standards.
