We are looking for an associate attorney to join our team and work directly with Sam Chandra. If chosen as the successful candidate, you will learn all aspects of post-foreclosure unlawful detainer law and be responsible for cases being prosecuted throughout the State of California; as well as standard “UD” cases in Southern California, including all aspects of case management from inception of the case to billing.

With over 25 years’ experience, this small office yields a significant presence throughout the state in this area of the law. Our clients have been with us for over 20 years. We are not currently accepting new clients or maintaining any web presence. Our goal of treating our client’s interests as though there were our own has rewarded us with a continuous stream of available work. We strive, every day, to be the best, the quickest, the most reliable and most efficient. Most days here are a “race horse”, but we strive to leave daily by 4:30 to maintain quality of life and meet that goal 95% of the time.
Compensation:
$125,000 to $150,000 (DOE) + Benefits
Responsibilities: (Training is expected)
Draft oppositions to: Motions to Quash, to Strike, “Delta” Motions; Demurrers; Notices of Related cases and Motions to Consolidate; Motions to Stay etc.
Draft: Discovery Requests & Responses; Motions to Compel; Motions for Summary Judgment and supporting declarations etc.
Conduct: Case analysis and Strategy; analysis of local laws/ just cause ordinances.
Draft Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and Motions to Remand.
Learn case management and the ability to take charge in all aspects of a case as needed.
Qualifications:
We are looking for the following:
Active CA Bar license.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
Team player, able to work with minimal oversight, work with direction (from all staff) ability to be supportive to others and promote a supportive environment, the ability to teach and be taught.
Uncanny attention to detail and strong work ethic
Legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
Knowledge of Landlord/ tenant law and CA Civ Pro is a plus.

Lunch break is mandatory for 30 min at noon. Our hours are 8-4:30 M-F and we push as needed to maintain this time table and leave on time daily (of course there are exceptions but they are rare). That being said, this is a high-volume environment. We stay on task, do our best and go home feeling good about the work done.
This is an on – site position. Location is Monrovia, CA.
