Role: Assistant Project Manager - Water & Wastewater Construction\n Location: Atlanta, GA\n Salary: $90K-$115K \n \n We're working with a leading self-performing heavy civil contractor that is expanding its Water & Wastewater team across the Atlanta metro area.

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they're looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful delivery of complex municipal water and wastewater treatment plant projects.\n \n This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career with a well-established contractor that invests in its people and offers clear progression into Project Management.\n \n What You'll Be Doing\n\n Support the Project Manager with the day-to-day delivery of water and wastewater treatment plant construction projects.\n Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.\n Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations to ensure project milestones are achieved.\n Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.\n Monitor project progress and help maintain schedules and budgets.\n Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, engineers, and internal teams.\n Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.\n Assist with project closeout and documentation.\n\n \n What We're Looking For\n\n Experience in an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar project support role within heavy civil construction.\n Previous experience working on water and/or wastewater treatment plant construction projects.\n Contractor-side construction experience is essential (candidates from consulting, engineering, inspection, or owner-side backgrounds will not be considered).\n Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.\n Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.\n A proactive attitude and desire to develop into a Project Manager.\n\n \n What's On Offer\n\n Competitive salary of up to $115,000\n $1,000/month vehicle allowance.\n Comprehensive benefits package.\n Clear career progression into a Project Manager position.\n Long-term pipeline of work throughout the Atlanta metro area, with limited travel requirements.\n Relocation assistance available for the right candidate.\n\n
