Port Loading Services Inc., a leading forklift loading service company servicing the ports of LA and Long Beach, California, is seeking a skilled Heavy Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. This critical role involves operating heavy forklifts during day shifts to efficiently load and unload trucks with loose freight, such as steel pipe, beams, coils, plate, tubing & machinery while ensuring the highest standards of safety and teamwork. The position requires working independently with periodic coordination among team members, driven by clear performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy forklifts to load and unload trucks safely

Inspect forklifts and equipment regularly to maintain safe operation

Comply with all safety regulations and company policies during all operations

Collaborate with team members to coordinate cargo handling and maximize efficiency

Report equipment issues promptly and assist with basic maintenance tasks

Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and professionalism

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in heavy forklift operation

Forklift Operator Certification (if applicable)

TWIC CARD ( IS A MUST )

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance

Effective teamwork and communication skills

Good time management and ability to work efficiently without direct supervision

Basic math skills: inventory counts and measurements

Report to work on time and as scheduled, as attendance and punctuality are necessary

Ability to problem solve and be self -motivated

Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times
