Overview:

We are seeking an experienced, fully insured Independent Contractor (1099) to inspect, bid, clean, and execute chimney maintenance and masonry repair work on a project-by-project basis. You will evaluate job sites, submit your scope of work and bids, and carry out approved jobs independently.

Scope of Services:

Bidding & Inspections: Conduct chimney inspections and provide itemized written bids/estimates per project.

Sweeping & Maintenance: Complete chimney flue cleanings, creosote removal, and venting system maintenance.

Masonry & Restoration: Tuckpointing, crown repairs, firebox rebuilds, flashing replacement, liner installation, and damp-proofing.

Safety Standards: Ensure all work adheres to NFPA 211 guidelines and local codes.

Requirements:

Tax Status: Must operate as a 1099 Independent Contractor (Form W-9 required prior to payout).

Insurance & Credentials:

Active General Liability Insurance & Workers' Compensation (or proof of state exemption).

Valid state/local contractor or trade license where applicable.

Fire/Chimney Certification: Active CSIA, NFI, or equivalent credential preferred. (See note below if uncertified).

Tools & Transport: Must supply your own service vehicle, ladders, safety equipment, hand/power tools, and bidding setup.

Note on Certifications: If you have solid masonry, tuckpointing, or roofing/flashing experience but lack active fire/chimney credentials (e.g., CSIA/NFI), we can assist qualified contractors in acquiring the necessary certifications.

Compensation & Payment Terms:

Structure: 1099 Independent Contractor — Pay based on agreed-upon project bid amount.

Process: For each assigned job, you will submit a formal cost estimate. Once approved, payout is issued upon satisfactory completion of the agreed scope of work.
