Lead Data Center Technician

About the Team

The Datacenter Operation team supports the company’s fast growth by deploying and operating hyperscale datacenters. The team takes full onsite responsibility for each site and manages the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware fleet operations, providing scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions and services for AI workloads.

Responsibilities

Install, deploy, troubleshoot, and support server and networking hardware within production datacenter environments.

Execute complex hardware replacements including servers, networking equipment, and power distribution components.

Perform structured cabling installations, modifications, testing, and troubleshooting for both copper and fiber infrastructure.

Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and infrastructure-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain high system reliability.

Support incident response activities as a first responder onsite while coordinating with remote engineering and infrastructure teams.

Maintain detailed documentation of datacenter assets, configurations, maintenance activities, and operational changes.

Assist with escalation support from lower-layer technicians and prioritize ticket resolution efficiently.

Work within rotating shifts or hold on-call responsibilities to support 24/7 datacenter operations.

Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with customers, vendors, partner teams, and internal stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

2-year or 4-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, OR equivalent hands-on datacenter operations experience.

Experience troubleshooting server hardware including POST, BIOS, PXE, IPMI, BMC, and hardware replacement workflows.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, Ethernet, copper/fiber cabling, switches, and routers.

Hands-on experience with structured cabling installations and datacenter hardware deployments.

Familiarity with Linux systems and basic systems administration concepts.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments.

Ability to safely handle and install servers, networking hardware, and related infrastructure components.

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience working with GPU servers and AI infrastructure environments including H100, B200, or GB200 systems.

Familiarity with datacenter cooling systems, electrical distribution, and environmental monitoring systems.

Experience with DCIM tools, ticketing systems, and asset management platforms.

Experience supporting operations in 24/7 critical infrastructure environments.

Basic scripting or automation experience for operational workflows.

Vendors, projects, or program engagement experience.

A high level of agility with the ability to prioritize work and stay organized in a complex, fast-paced environment with high ambiguity.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to clarity and detail.
