Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Vascular Surgeon to provide temporary coverage and fill gaps in our schedule. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic practice setting, including office-based clinic work and hospital coverage. Job Details:
Reason for Coverage: Currently not fully staffed with a full-time MD.
Practice Setting: The role involves office-based clinic work two days per week, with the remainder of the time covering hospital duties. Weekend coverage may also be required.
Call Ratio: Expectation of 2-4 call nights per week, although this may vary.
Average Number of Cases Per Day: Approximately 3 cases per day. Facility Details:
Documentation System/EMR: Utilizes Epic for seamless documentation and communication.
Number of Operating Rooms: Includes 6 main ORs, 2 CVT ORs, and a hybrid room with 2 cath labs.
Ancillary Staff: Supported by a dedicated team including office staff, PSRs, surgery schedulers, CMAs, LPNs, vascular techs, and part-time MDs, along with a practice manager. Required Procedures:
The ideal candidate should be proficient in a variety of vascular surgery procedures, including but not limited to:
Aneurysm repairs
Thoracic and abdominal surgeries
Arterial bypass procedures
Peripheral vascular interventions
Vascular access device placement
Hemodialysis access procedures Endovascular Surgery Procedures:
Experience with a range of endovascular interventions is essential, including:
Carotid artery stenting
Bypass surgery
Femoral-popliteal bypass procedures
Aortofemoral bypasses
Endovenous laser therapy
Treatment of vascular malformations and syndromes
Endovascular therapy for peripheral artery disease and limb gangrene Requirements:
Board Certification: Must be board certified in Vascular Surgery.
State License & DEA: Active licensure in Virginia and DEA registration are required.
BLS/ACLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
Clean Background: A clean background is required to obtain temporary privileges.
COI Coverage: Coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M is necessary, as per Virginia statute limitations. How to Apply:
