High School Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate) NSY 2026–2027

Position: High School Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate)

Schedule: Full-Time 40 Hours per Week

New Staff Start Date: August 13, 2026

Assignment End Date: May 28, 2027

Schedule

Start Time: 7:15 AM daily

End Time:

Monday: 3:45 PM

Two additional days: 3:45 PM

Two days: 2:30 PM

Full-time, 40-hour work week

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated High School Intervention Specialist to support students with mild to moderate disabilities during the 2026–2027 school year. This position is part of a collaborative intervention team that provides both inclusive classroom support and targeted pull-out instruction to help students achieve academic success.

The ideal candidate is passionate about fostering student growth, building positive relationships, and collaborating with educators to create an inclusive learning environment.

Classroom & Caseload

High school setting

Approximate caseload of 20 students (within state guidelines)

Primarily inclusion services with some pull-out instruction

Includes facilitating a supported study hall for students requiring additional academic assistance

Shared intervention classroom with the high school intervention team

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students' IEP goals.

Support students in general education classrooms through inclusive teaching practices.

Deliver targeted pull-out interventions and academic support as needed.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate IEP documentation.

Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators.

Foster a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student independence and achievement.

Qualifications

Valid Intervention Specialist (Mild/Moderate) license appropriate for the high school level.

Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Experience in inclusion and resource settings is preferred.
