Starting Salary: $26.96/HR AND UP TO $15,000 IN INCENTIVES

Supervisor: CPD Sergeant

Pay Grade: Grade 17S

Blood/Viral Pathogen Risk: Foreseeable Risk

Retirement Class: Special Risk

Current Florida Sworn Law Enforcement Officer:

$5,000 Moving Allowance

$5,000 at Completion of PTO phase

$5,000 at Completion of Year 2

$5,000 at Completion of Year 3

Current Out-of-State Sworn Law Enforcement Officer:

$5,000 Moving Allowance

$5,000 at Completion of PTO phase

$2,500 at Completion of Year 2

$2,500 at Completion of Year 3

$5,000 at Acknowledgment of Certification by State (State Incentive)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This individual is responsible for providing law enforcement service in the neighborhoods of Flagler County. They are expected to operate within a work environment driven by both community and intelligence lead policing. Deputy Sheriff's act under the color of the authority of the Sheriff and provide those services that support the programs and policies without close supervision. Deputy Sheriffs provide calm responses under volatile circumstances and must constantly remember that their personal actions reflect on the whole of the agency and the Sheriff.

MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIA:

Graduation from High School or possession of a High School Equivalency Diploma recognized by the State of Florida; AND

Must be currently Florida Certified in Law Enforcement or a Certified Law Enforcement Officer eligible for an Equivalency of Training (EOT); AND

Must not have been convicted of any felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement; AND

Must not have received a dishonorable or general discharge from any branch of the Armed Forces; AND

Must show capabilities of performing the minimum standards appropriate to this agency; AND

Must have or be able to obtain and hold a valid Florida driver's license.
