A rapidly growing, private equity-backed infrastructure services company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This role offers broad exposure across accounting operations, financial reporting, and strategic growth initiatives within a multi-entity organization.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting month-end close, financial reporting, project accounting, fixed assets, and process improvement while partnering closely with operations and finance leadership. This position also provides unique exposure to acquisitions, systems integration, and scaling accounting processes as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes

Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports

Maintain balance sheet accounts and perform variance analysis

Assist with project/job-cost accounting, contract billing, and WIP reporting

Oversee fixed asset and equipment accounting, including depreciation and capital expenditures

Partner with operations to ensure accurate project financials

Support acquisition integration, accounting standardization, and process improvements

Assist with audits, tax compliance, and internal controls

Identify opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and accounting efficiency

Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to the continued growth of the finance function

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

5+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close

Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet management

Background in project-based industries (construction, infrastructure, manufacturing, or field services) preferred

Experience with fixed assets, job costing, or multi-entity accounting is a plus

CPA (or progress toward certification) preferred but not required

Strong ERP and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
