Position Title:Middle/High School Adjustment Counselor Reports to:Building Principal – Quaboag Regional Middle/High School Primary Function:The Middle/High School Adjustment Counselor supports students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being to promote academic success and personal growth.

This role involves providing counseling services, crisis intervention, and collaboration with staff, families, and outside agencies to address students’ individual needs.

Qualifications: •Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field •Appropriate state licensure/certification (e.g., School Adjustment Counselor, School Social Worker) •Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting preferred •Knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and mental health practices •Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Responsibilities: •Counseling & Direct Student Supports oProvide individual and small group counseling oSupport Students dealing with: Mental Health Concerns Behavioral Challenges Social or peer issues Responsible for coordinating reentry meetings for students in a temporary outplacement •Social-Emotional & Behavioral Interventions oCollaborates with BCBA/RBTs oTeach coping skills, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution oSupports All Programmatic Staff and students, as well as all QRMHS students •Special Education & Student Support Teams oParticipates in IEP Meetings, 504 plan development, and Student intervention teams oProvides counseling services outlined in IEPs oTracks progress and writes reports on student outcomes •Crisis Intervention & Risk Assessment oRespond to crises such as: suicidal ideation, behavioral escalations, trauma or family emergencies oConduct risk assessments and safety planning oHelp develop school crisis protocols •Family & Community Engagement oCommunicates regularly with families oConnects students to outside mental health or social services when necessary oAssists with Mandated Reporting oCollaborates with outside providers oSupports families in addressing home-related challenges impacting school •Prevention & School Climate oCollaborates around bullying prevention, peer mediation, and substance use education oPromotes a positive and inclusive school climate oAdvocates for students' well-being and equity oConsults regularly with staff regarding Social-Emotional Learning Salary:Per QEA Contract Closing Date for Applications:Open until filled Start Date:August 28, 2026 Apply toJohn Diorio, Principal-QRMHS 284 Old West Brookfield Road Warren, MA 01083 Quaboag Regional School District ensures equal employment and educational opportunities for its employees and students.
