Position Summary
The Assembler / Material Handler is responsible for pulling materials from inventory, accurately performing inventory transactions within the ERP system, assembling product components, and preparing finished goods for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Material Handling
Pull raw materials, components, and packaging materials from inventory according to work orders and production schedules.
Verify part numbers, quantities, and material specifications before issuing materials to production orders.
Perform inventory transactions accurately within the ERP system, including material issues, transfers, and order completions.
Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material control and documentation.
Transport materials safely between warehouse and production areas by fork lift or by carts.
Assembly Operations
Assemble housings and related product components according to work instructions and engineering specifications.
Install snap rings, seals, bearings, and other components using approved tools and methods.
Operate presses and assembly equipment to install bearings and other fitted components.
Inspect assembled products to ensure quality requirements are met.
Report any quality concerns, damaged materials, or process issues to supervision.
Packaging and Shipping Support
Package finished products according to customer and company requirements.
Label and prepare orders for shipment.
Verify completed orders against work instructions and packing requirements.
Maintain a clean and organized packing area.
General Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Work collaboratively with production, quality, and warehouse personnel to meet customer requirements.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP system transactions.
Ability to read work instructions, bills of materials, and production documents.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand movements.
Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, and assembly equipment.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as required.
