Senior Java Developer

Senior Java Developer focused on architecting microservices with Spring Boot + Kafka on Red Hat OpenShift. This consultant will deploy, manage, and scale Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters. Also will configure, manage, and monitor containerized applications running on Kubernetes or OpenShift in a role that balances new development with critical maintenance and testing responsibilities.

Contract is for 8 months with a high likelihood of lasting longer.

Required (resume must show this!):

8+ years Java/JEE microservices development with Spring REST and Spring Boot

4+ years integrating Kafka for event-driven workflows

2 years of Kafka administration

1 year using AI tools such as Claude Code

4 years working with Red Hat OpenShift container platform

4 years developing automated unit tests with JUnit

4 years Eclipse or Spring Tool Suite or JBoss studio

3+ years Github, JIRA

2+ years Oracle Exadata

Preferred skills:

CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions

Agile methodologies and working as Scrum Master
