Instrumentation Coordinator – Sterile Processing
Schedule: Weekend-focused schedule options:
6:00am–6:30pm Friday–Sunday (with occasional scheduled holidays)
OR 6:00am–6:30pm (Sat, Sun, plus one weekday shift)
OR 6:00pm–6:30am (Sat, Sun, plus one weeknight shift)
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a busy, tertiary/trauma healthcare facility
Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
Required certifications: CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA)
Familiarity with tracking systems such as Censitrac
Core skills:
Decontamination and manual cleaning of instruments and scopes
Assembly and tray/sets organization across service lines
Sterilization processes: Sterrad and steam, including routine testing/monitoring
High-level disinfection and scope reprocessing (HLD, AER experience)
Sterile storage and OR liaison experience
Preferred charting system experience: Epic
Roles & Responsibilities:
Oversee the decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
Manage the assembly and organization of instrument trays and sets across various service lines.
Ensure compliance with sterilization protocols and monitoring processes.
Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain appropriate sterile storage practices.
Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices in sterile processing.
Assist in the implementation of routine quality checks and audits of sterile processing activities.
Compliance / Notes:
Urgent fingerprinting requirement: candidates must complete fingerprints immediately after contract signing.
Reference requirements: 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be a manager/director or formal supervisor.
Background checks and other compliance requirements will be enforced.
