Job Description
The Bartender is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality by preparing and serving beverages with precision, efficiency, and professionalism while creating an outstanding guest experience. Bartenders are expected to possess extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and food pairings while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and responsible alcohol service.
Essential Responsibilities
Welcome every guest promptly with a warm, professional demeanor.
Prepare classic cocktails, specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to recipe specifications.
Maintain expert knowledge of the restaurant's wine list, spirits, bourbons, and featured cocktails.
Recommend beverage pairings to complement guests' meals.
Ensure beverages are prepared consistently, accurately, and presented beautifully.
Verify guest identification and comply with all Georgia alcohol laws.
Maintain a clean, fully stocked, and organized bar throughout the shift.
Prepare fresh garnishes, syrups, mixers, and bar ingredients daily.
Accurately enter orders, process payments, and balance cash drawers.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service.
Support servers by preparing drinks promptly to maintain efficient table service.
Assist with inventory counts, stocking, receiving deliveries, and notifying management of low inventory.
Perform opening, running, and closing side work according to company standards.
Maintain all health department sanitation standards.
Knowledge & Skills
Thorough knowledge of wines, bourbons, whiskey, vodka, tequila, gin, rum, and premium spirits.
Ability to explain flavor profiles and recommend pairings.
Knowledge of proper glassware, garnishes, and beverage presentation.
Strong multitasking and organizational abilities.
Excellent communication and guest service skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality.
Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
Qualifications
Previous bartending experience preferred (fine dining experience strongly preferred).
Georgia alcohol certification (or ability to obtain).
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
