The company works across both private and public-sector projects and offers a broad range of delivery methods, including general contracting, construction management, design-build, and design-assist.\n \n They are looking to add a Contracts Specialist – Commercial Construction who can support the review, development, and negotiation of owner contracts and subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle.\n \n This opportunity is especially well suited for someone who wants to be involved earlier in the contracting process, including the proposal, pre-contract, and contract formation stages, rather than only administering agreements after they have been executed.\n \n The Opportunity\n You will partner closely with Estimating, Preconstruction, Project Management, Risk, and Legal teams to identify contract risks, communicate key terms, support negotiations, and help structure agreements that align with both project requirements and broader business goals.\n \n The role offers exposure to a wide variety of commercial construction agreements and the opportunity to directly influence how contractual risk is evaluated and managed before a project begins.

You will also have the opportunity to support the continued development of contract templates, preferred language, negotiation standards, and internal contracting processes.\n \n What You’ll Be Doing\n\n Review proposed owner contracts, subcontracts, and related construction agreements\n Identify commercial, operational, financial, and legal risks before agreements are finalized\n Participate in contract negotiations during the proposal, pre-contract, and contract execution stages\n Review provisions related to scope, payment, schedule, change management, damages, indemnification, dispute resolution, insurance, and termination\n Ensure subcontract agreements properly incorporate applicable owner requirements and flow-down obligations\n Partner with Estimating, Preconstruction, and Project Management teams to communicate contract risks and develop practical solutions\n Communicate with owners, subcontractors, brokers, advisors, and other external partners\n Draft and track negotiated revisions, redlines, addendums, and contract clarifications\n Support contract amendments, modifications, and related project documentation\n Assist in developing standardized contract templates, preferred terms, and negotiation guidelines\n Help maintain complete and accurate contract records across active projects\n\n \n Why Consider This Opportunity?\n\n Join a stable and respected commercial construction firm with decades of experience\n Work across a diverse portfolio of private and public-sector projects\n Become involved earlier in the contract lifecycle, when key terms and risk positions are being established\n Gain exposure to multiple project delivery methods and contract structures\n Collaborate with leaders across Preconstruction, Operations, Risk, and Legal\n Help shape internal contract standards and processes as the function continues to develop\n Work within a contractor with extensive in-house capabilities and a strong operational foundation\n Base salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience\n Annual performance bonus\n Annual profit-sharing opportunity\n 401(k) plan with company match\n Comprehensive employee benefits package\n Long-term stability and opportunities for continued professional growth\n\n \n What They’re Looking For\n The company is open to candidates with backgrounds in construction contracts, procurement, subcontract administration, risk management, project controls, or related commercial functions.\n \n Relevant experience may include:\n\n Experience reviewing or managing commercial construction agreements\n Exposure to both owner contracts and subcontractor agreements\n Involvement in contract negotiation, redlining, or the development of proposed contract terms\n Understanding of how construction contracts allocate commercial and project risk\n Familiarity with provisions involving scope, payment, schedule, changes, damages, indemnification, insurance, dispute resolution, and termination\n Exposure to AIA, ConsensusDocs, OFCC, or similar construction contract forms\n Ability to explain contractual language clearly to project and operational teams\n Strong written communication, negotiation, organization, and attention to detail\n\n \n A four-year degree in construction management, business, law, or a related field is preferred, although an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
