We are seeking a Cost Engineer to join our client (global leader in the automotive industry) and support product cost analysis, supplier evaluations, and value engineering initiatives.\n \n This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to evaluate manufacturing costs, develop should-cost models, and identify cost optimization opportunities throughout the product development lifecycle.\n \n Responsibilities\n\n Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost competitiveness.\n Develop and maintain piece cost and investment should-cost models using aPriori and other cost modeling tools.\n Support RFQ activities by analyzing supplier quotations and validating manufacturing costs.\n Perform cost analysis to support supplier negotiations and sourcing decisions.\n Track cost impacts resulting from engineering design changes.\n Identify value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) opportunities and recommend cost reduction initiatives.\n Maintain cost tracking tools, reporting dashboards, and cost databases.\n Collaborate with engineering and purchasing teams to ensure product cost targets are achieved.\n Analyze engineering specifications, CAD models, BOMs, supplier quotations, project timing, and cost targets to provide accurate cost assessments.\n\n \n Required Qualifications\n\n 3+ years of experience in cost engineering, manufacturing engineering, product costing, or a related field.\n Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).\n Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including: Injection molding, Metal stamping and fabrication, Thermoforming, and Assembly processes\n Experience developing should-cost models and performing manufacturing cost analysis.\n Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.\n Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.\n\n \n Required Software\n\n Microsoft Excel\n Microsoft PowerPoint\n aPriori\n CAD Viewer (CATIA V6 or equivalent)\n\n \n Preferred Qualifications\n\n Experience in the automotive industry.\n Familiarity with supplier cost evaluations and RFQ processes.\n Experience supporting sourcing decisions and supplier negotiations.\n Knowledge of value engineering (VA/VE) methodologies.\n\n \n Location: Raymond, OH (Hybrid – Approximately 4 days/week)\n Duration: June 2026 – March 2027 (Potential for Extension)\n Travel: Less than 5%\n \n No 3rd party agencies or C2C
