With the expansion of our Maintenance Team, Briess is currently looking for Full Time Team Members to join our Maintenance Team. These positions can be on either our 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shift.

Starting Pay of $30-$35/hour

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities within a food ingredients manufacturing environment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, minimizes downtime, and supports safe, efficient production while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and regulatory standards.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Perform preventative maintenance on processing, packaging, and utility equipment

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Diagnose equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions

Maintain and service motors, conveyors, pumps, mixers, filling lines, and other production equipment

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) programs to reduce equipment downtime

Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures and schedules

Utilize predictive maintenance tools and techniques when applicable

Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution

Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions

Identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions

Communicate with production and leadership regarding equipment status and repair timelines

Facility Maintenance

Maintain building systems including HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, and utilities

Perform general facility repairs and upkeep as needed

Ensure all maintenance work supports sanitary and food-safe conditions

Compliance, Safety & Quality

Adhere to OSHA safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures

Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and repairs

Support internal and external audits and inspections

Record maintenance activities, work orders, and parts usage in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)

Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and reorder levels

Ensure accurate documentation for compliance and traceability

Support efficiency, waste reduction, and cost-saving efforts

Adhere to all government and company safety, sanitation and GMP policies and regulations. Adhere to Food Safety, Quality and SQF Codes.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred

2–5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably food or regulated industry

Experience working with industrial machinery and production equipment

Technical Skills

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, motors, and control systems preferred

Familiarity with welding, fabrication, and basic machining a plus

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Skills & Competencies

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

SHORT-TERM DISABILITY

$500 per week for 26 weeks (1st day after injury / 8th day after illness)
