Lead Electrician

Job Description

The Lead Electrician plays a crucial role in overseeing electrical projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings primarily in Decatur, IL and nearby areas. This position balances hands-on electrical work with supervisory responsibilities, guiding a small team of 1 to 3 electricians to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with relevant codes. The Lead Electrician takes charge of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and project planning while fostering a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects

Supervise and lead a small team of electricians (1-3 members)

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical codes

Plan and coordinate project activities and timelines

Train team members to enhance skills and maintain quality standards

Conduct quality control inspections to guarantee workmanship excellence

Travel to job sites primarily within Decatur, IL and surrounding areas

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of experience in electrical work

High school diploma or equivalent

Proficient in electrical wiring and blueprint reading

Strong knowledge of safety standards compliance
